200th Volvo for SRH

Milestone model delivers for SRH Milk Haulage…

Hunter Valley-based operator SRH Milk Haulage recently took delivery of its 200th Volvo truck.

Established with one truck and trailer in 1996, the company has since grown to run a fleet of 65 trucks and 105 tankers.

Managing Director Scott Harvey (pictured below) said the relationship with Volvo has been instrumental in helping the firm flourish, seeing it become of the nation's largest and most successful milk transport companies.

Today the business operates in three states: New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia.

"I'm very proud of my Volvo trucks and while I was an early adopter, I've watched them grow in popularity over the years," Scott said.

"It's easy to see why more and more transport companies are investing in Volvo trucks. Not only are they Australian Made, but in my opinion they are market leaders in safety and innovation and their reputation is second to none."

Scott said a reliable fleet was absolutely crucial in milk transport.

"Cows don't stop producing milk, so SRH Milk Haulage works 24/7, 365 days a year and we can't afford to miss a single delivery," he said.

"I get peace of mind from the Gold Service Agreement and knowing Volvo is taking responsibility for the predictive maintenance and scheduled servicing that keeps the SRH fleet on the road."

Tony O’Connell (pictured below, left), Vice President of Volvo Trucks, said Volvo is proud to have been with SRH through the years.

"Scott has built a really successful business and Volvo is extremely privileged to have been on the journey with him," he said.

"The dealership team at VCV Newcastle has built a close bond with Scott and it's fair to say they feel part of his team.

"By developing this close relationship, we've been able make life easier for Scott by adapting the way we work and tailoring our products to suit his needs.

"The 200th Volvo truck is an incredible landmark and we look forward to working with Scott and his family into the future."

When Scott purchased his first truck, a Volvo FH12, his daughter Blair was three.

"I took Blair with me when I went around the showrooms," he said.

While Blair (pictured below, centre, with Scott and mum Regina), cannot remember her trip to buy the first Volvo, she is now an integral part of the family business, working at SRH since she left school 10 years ago and planning on taking over the business upon her parents' retirement.

"Dad's been explaining what's involved in buying a truck – the when, why and how of it and what he needs from them – and the service side is a big part of it," she said.

"VCV Newcastle has been great to deal with. I know I can call anyone there and they'll take care of us. When I eventually do take over I'll certainly be continuing with them; they know our business back to front."
