The drip-feed of information leading up to the launch of the all-new Hino 700 Series continues, with Hino Australia announcing the overhauled heavy-duty platform will boast "the most comprehensive safety package ever offered in a Hino truck for the Australian market".
Safety features will encompass not just staples like vehicle stability control and antilock brakes, but also recent advances such as a Pre-Collision System with autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and LED headlamps and daytime running lights (DRLs), among others.
A photo of the new Hino 700 Series' instrumentation shows the truck will also come with lane departure warning.
The 700 Series' suite of safety tech, known as Hino SmartSafe, will feature a range of driver-assist technologies that the company says will take an active focus on protecting the lives of drivers, passengers, and other road users.
"At Hino Australia, safety is a central design principal and the all-new 700 Series is no exception," said Daniel Petrovski, Manager of Product Strategy for Hino Australia.
"It will answer a lot of the major safety issues that confront the transport industry and other road users with the implementation of advanced driver-assist technology, Hino SmartSafe."
Hino has made a name for itself in recent years for its aggressive pursuit of cutting-edge safety technology. The brand was the first in Australia to fit vehicle stability control to its light-duty range – the 300 Series – as standard, back in 2014.
It repeated the move in its next-gen medium-duty 500 Series Wide Cab range in 2017, followed by its 500 Series Standard Cab models in 2018.
Now Hino looks set to roll out a major safety upgrade at the upper end of its range, in the new 700 Series line-up.
Hino Australia was the recipient of the Trucksales Safety Award in 2021 for its new 300 Series range, which also features Hino SmartSafe. The brand took out the same award in 2020 for its 500 Series Standard Cab range.
Hino says more information relating to the all-new Hino 700 Series will be released closer to its local launch in June.
