Allison appoints new sales boss

Allison Transmission has announced it has promoted Atak Talas to the role of Executive Director of Asia Pacific Sales, effective from March 1.

Mr Talas is replacing Brian Geiselhart, who will be repatriating back to the United States to take on a new role focused on Allison’s licensing and partnership initiatives.

Based in Japan, Mr Talas will lead the Asia Pacific team in executing strategic growth objectives and launching new product initiatives.

“Atak's promotion recognizes his ability to develop strong customer relationships, drive growth and lead teams, along with his technical skills and strong business acumen," said Heidi K Schutte, Vice President of APAC, EMEA, and South America Sales.

“He is well-equipped to build upon the success the team has delivered under Brian’s leadership, whom we thank for his efforts and dedication to this role.”

Mr Talas has held multiple cross-functional roles at Allison Transmission stretching back over the last 14 years, including Customer Integration Engineer, OEM Account Manager, Segment Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Director of Turkey and Middle East Sales. Most recently he served as Managing Director of East Asia Sales, overseeing sales and strategy in Japan, Korea and Australia.

Previous to Allison, Mr Talas worked as a research and development engineer at Daimler, focusing on engine and transmission components of Mercedes-Benz trucks. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration.
