ATA auction draws near

Support the industry that supports you at the 2015 Australian Trucking Association Auction

Australia's trucking operators will have the opportunity to purchase some quality hardware while supporting their industry at the upcoming 2015 Australian Trucking Association Auction.

To be held on Thursday, March 19, in Hobart as the opening event of the ATA's 2015 Trucking Australia conference, the auction replaces the tender process of previous years and will see a range of quality equipment go under the hammer.

Provided by ATA sponsors, the funds raised from the auction will then go into the ATA's war chest to help fund its advocacy work for the year ahead.

The equipment on offer spans a Volvo FH540 Euro 5 prime mover, a CIMC flat-deck curtainsider B-double trailer set, a custom-painted Thermo King S700 Precedent refrigeration unit, an unpainted Thermo King S600 refrigeration unit (taken from the ATA's Safety Truck), and a full B-double set of 32 tyres from Bridgestone, among others. A variety of holiday accommodation and other merchandise will also be auctioned.

The auction itself will take place from 7.00pm to 10.30pm at Macquarie Wharf No. 2, just near Hobart's Constitution Dock. The gala evening will include live entertainment and a mouth-watering selection of local produce.

The ATA's Chief Executive, Stuart St Clair, said the auction was a vitally important part of the representative body's annual program.

"I encourage operators to come along to the auction night and consider placing a bid on some of these items," he said.

"Not only will you be competing for state-of-the-art equipment, you’ll also be helping to support the trucking industry."

Operators can make pre-auction bids for the auction's major items via the ATA's website – visit www.truck.net.au/auction for more information.

Trucking Australia 2015 will be held in Hobart over March 19-21. To see the full Trucking Australia 2015 program or to register visit www.truckingaustralia.com.au.
