Registrations of new trucks and commercial vehicles totalled 3520 units in August, with the latest Truck Industry Council TMARK data also showing that 26,736 vehicles have rolled off dealership floors year to date to the end of last month.
Those figures represent increases of 34.6 per cent and 21.8% respectively over the same periods in 2020, but more importantly – given the massive market fluctuations wrought by the coronavirus pandemic in recent times – the numbers are also up 6.8% and 5.3% over the corresponding periods in 2019, before the world had even heard the term, ‘COVID-19’.
