The Australian Festival of Transport, including the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony, will be held at the National Road Transport Museum in Alice Springs over August 26 to 28. But you’ll need to move quickly to secure a spot, because tickets are only on sale until this Saturday, August 20.

Tickets for individual events over the three days cost from $15, or you can purchase a Festival Package, which includes entry to all events on the itinerary, for $185.
The programme for the Australian Festival of Transport is as follows:
Friday, August 26
>> Transport Women’s Welcome Breakfast
>> Cummins Cup Truckie’s Race Day
Saturday, August 27
>> Shell Rimula Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony
>> Legends Gala Dinner
Sunday, August 28
>> Museum open day – mini Ghan train rides
>> Entertainment, merchandise sale
>> The Old Ghan Tea Rooms, café open for meals

A highlight of the festival will be the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which recognises and champions the achievements of the road transport community across Australia.
This year’s ceremony will induct 57 new legends of road transport into the Wall of Fame, celebrating each individual’s lifelong commitment to the industry.

“The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has shone a spotlight on how important the road transport community is for our country,” said Nick Lubransky, Transport Marketing Manager for Viva Energy (the Shell brand licensee in Australia).
This year’s Wall of Fame ceremony will also involve some of last year’s inductees, as the COVID-19 pandemic has effectively sidelined the event, in an in-person form at least, since 2019.

“We are excited to be back celebrating such an important community and recognising those individuals that have demonstrated a lifelong commitment to the transport industry,” said Mr Lubransky.
“For 21 years now, Shell Rimula and the Road Transport Hall of Fame have supported this special occasion and we are delighted to be back this year to welcome the 2022 inductees in person.”
