Back a winner with MAN

Choose a winner for your fleet, with MAN’s extensive range of Euro 5 models now available at dealers around the country with special runout offers to be had

MAN’s latest range of Euro 5 compliant TGX, TGS and TGM models cover all bases, from agile inner-city rigids to highway storming B-doubles – even off-road and extreme-duty models. On top of the incredible runout deals, operators can take advantage of market-leading extended warranties on all models, guaranteeing long-term peace-of-mind for your fleet, backed by Penske’s comprehensive network of dealers.

Benefit from proven, straightforward Euro 5 powertrains, ideal for fleet operators that want a reliable replacement before the emissions standards change in November this year.

Power you can count on

Powering the MAN range are an array of cutting-edge engine and transmission combinations, developed and built in-house to ensure unrivalled reliability for the life of the truck. In fact, MAN actually developed the first ever commercial diesel engine alongside inventor Rudolf Diesel in the late 1890s, and the manufacturer was the first to produce a direct-injection diesel engine in 1924.

MAN was also the first truckmaker to use an exhaust-gas turbocharger in 1951, leading to an unprecedented 35 percent increase in power, which was ultimately the birth of the now ubiquitous ‘turbo-diesel’ engine. More than a century after developing the first direct injection diesel engine, MAN continues to innovate and its latest range of D-series engines sets the benchmark for power, reliability and longevity.

The TGM range, featuring the 6.9-litre D08 engine, is available with power ratings of 250hp to 320hp, and covers GVM ratings of 13-tonnes through to 26-tonnes. Of course, the TGM is also available in 4x4 guise, capable of rugged off-road use.

Stepping up into the TGS range, the 26-tonne GVM prime movers are powered by the 10.5-litre D20 and 12.4-litre D26 diesel engines with ratings ranging from 440hp to 510hp. Available in both 4x2 and 6x4 configurations, the versatile TGS is suited to longhaul, construction, and general distribution.

Topping the MAN lineup is the TGX range, powered by the D26 and larger 15.2-litre D38 engines, with ratings ranging from 440hp up to 640hp. The TGX is offered in a variety of configurations, from 4x2 to 8x4, with a range of cabs available, suited to long-distance B-double and even roadtrain use.

Mated to its impressive lineup of diesel engines is the 12-speed MAN TipMatic automated manual transmission, which offers easy operation, outstanding economy and seamless shifting.

In fact, the TipMatic transmission can be customised for various transport tasks, with features like SpeedShifting and SmartShifting, and the intelligent ‘box will detect and select the right gear for takeoffs and any gradient you can throw at it.

Your guardian angel

Not only is an MAN truck a safe choice for your fleet, but the range also offers leading active and passive safety systems aimed at both drivers and pedestrians.

For starters, MAN’s cabins are reinforced to comply with the ECE-R29-3 safety requirements, keeping occupants safe in the event of collision. Then there’s MAN’s Guardian Angel system, which includes a range of safety features like emergency brake assist, lane guard assist, emergency stopping signal, adaptive cruise control and more.

On top of this, MAN trucks feature an advanced electronic stability control system, as well as the BrakeMatic system with automatic braking system (ABS) and anti-slip regulator (ASR). Further enhancing safety, MAN offers its powerful Opti-Connect telematics package that monitors factors like contextual speeding, harsh braking, cornering and acceleration to help prevent incidents and improve driver behaviour.

The driver comes first

MAN understands that each truck is a place of business, and the comfort of the driver is of utmost importance out on the road. The entire range of MAN trucks offers an optimised workspace for operators, with exceptional fit and functionality covering comfort, safety and ease of use.

At the heart of the cabin is the cockpit, which has been developed by drivers for drivers, with an intuitive design that features a wrap-around driver-facing instrument panel, steering wheel-mounted controls, and a gear shift control knob that falls within arm’s reach.

MAN’s groundbreaking SmartSelect navigator features a comfortable hand support and integrated touchpad, allowing operators to make precise inputs – even in rough terrain. The SmartSelect control also features integrated lighting for ease-of-use at night.

Premium seats ensure drivers are supported and comfortable for hours on end, with loads of adjustability and an ergonomic armrest built in. After a long day on the road, the MAN cabins become a tranquil place of rest offering a home away from home for drivers.

Storage is also plentiful, with an array of shelves and compartments throughout the cabin, all just an arm’s length from the bed. Options like a pull-out fridge can also be fitted beneath the bed.

A remote control above the bunk allows operation of the media system, lighting, independent heating and windows – meaning drivers can spend more time resting.

World-class warranty

All MAN runout models are available with a free extended warranty, ensuring the ultimate peace of mind for your fleet.

“We launched this product range a few years ago and it’s now been in the market for a decent amount of time,” said Derek Schroff, Head of MAN Truck & Bus, Penske Australia.

“Over 160,000 hours of development work was invested into this generation of MANs. One major benefit we’re seeing is increased time on the road and less warranty repairs. This has reduced our costs in warranty repairs, which means we can pass on cost benefits to customers in offering market-leading warranty packages.”

The TGM models score an extended warranty of up to three years/225,000km covering the entire vehicle, while the TGS models are offered with an extended warranty of up to five years/750,000km for the driveline and three years/450,000km for the entire vehicle.

Heavy-hitting TGX models are offered with up to a five-year/1,000,000km driveline and four-year/800,000km entire vehicle warranty, putting them ahead of the pack with class-leading coverage.

On top of the exceptional warranty offered, the truckmaker is also offering four years of its MAN Roadside Assistance for runout models, ensuring operators are covered Australia-wide – whether it’s a cracked windscreen, flat battery or an empty tank.

Customers can also take advantage of contract maintenance packages as part of the runout sale, and the best part is that the MAN models don’t require a midlife component change-out.

Don’t miss out

MAN is your partner in business, with the backing of Penske’s comprehensive dealer network and unrivalled warranty and roadside assistance programs – giving customers the ultimate peace-of-mind.

“Speaking with our customers, one thing that’s a common theme is that they want that predictive costing across the operating of the vehicles and that peace-of-mind that they’re backed up by a partner who’s supplying the trucks,” Mr Schroff said.

“This offering takes a lot of the question marks out of that cost of ownership as a standard package, and for customers looking for us to also provide repair and maintenance contracts it helps us to reduce that cost of ownership further.”
