Everstin Group has recently taken delivery of four Euro 6 Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks as part of a fleet expansion.
The Melbourne-based business is committed to use the latest technology, with a focus on safety, fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.
“Everstin Group is committed to providing our customers with the best service and as part of that promise we are committed to operate the best quality equipment,” says Everstin Group General Manager, Ross Winkworth.
“We put safety first in our company, for both our staff and the community, so selecting the Mercedes-Benz Actros was an easy choice given its leadership in that area,” he says.

“It also helps that they look great too,” Mr Winkworth added.
The Actros features the Mercedes-Benz Active Brake Assist system, a radar/camera system that can perform full emergency braking for vehicles and even initiate braking for pedestrians.
Mercedes-Benz has included the ABA system as standard specification in Australia for 10 years, and the tradition continues with the current models.
The new Everstin Group Actros models include two 2643 prime mover tippers and an imposing 2653 with a five axle dog trailer for bulk sand cartage in addition to a Mercedes-Benz 2653 for carting bulk cement.
The trucks were delivered through Daimler Trucks Laverton, to the west of Melbourne, which also services the Mercedes-Benz Everstin Group trucks.

All new Mercedes-Benz Actros models are supported with a complimentary Best Basic service plan that applies for 500,000km or five years, whichever comes first.

“The free servicing and the way Mercedes-Benz backs their trucks with warranty support really helps us keep costs down,” Mr Winkworth says.
All four Everstin Group Mercedes-Benz models feature the latest generation 13-litre six-cylinder OM 473 with variable high-pressure X-Pulse common rail fuel injection and an asymmetric turbocharger for increased drivability.
These engines deliver maximum power output of 530hp and 2600Nm of torque.

The engines are teamed to a 12-speed automated manual transmission, which now features a crawler gear for low-speed yard work.
All Mercedes-Benz Actros engines meet the Euro 6 emission standard, which requires trucks emit 99 per cent less particulate matter and 97 per cent less NOx (nitrogen oxides) than Euro 5 standards.
Everstin Group said it is especially keen on the environmental credentials of the Actros trucks it has just added to the fleet.
“Having a truck that meets Euro 6 emissions before that level of emissions standard is mandated in Australia is certainly a big positive for Everstin Group,” Mr Winkworth said.

“It’s something simple that we can do to reduce the emissions of our fleet without any downside.”
The Actros is also known for its fuel efficiency, something that Everstin Group appreciates.
“We have always found the Mercedes-Benz trucks to be excellent on fuel and the new trucks have certainly reinforced that point,” Mr Winkworth concluded.
