Truck component specialist BPW Transpec has added three new products to its line-up of running gear: BPW Landing Gear; an ECO Airtank; and the ECO Cargo VB mechanical suspension.
The new products were unveiled for the first time in Australia at Melbourne’s recent 2014 International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show (ITTES), which was held at the Victorian capital’s Royal Showgrounds over April 3-6.
The company says its BPW Landing Gear is light, rugged and comfortable to use. The legs feature a continuous screw-on plate to resist lateral forces and a reinforced band on the shaft. A perforated screw-on plate makes the unit simple to install in a variety of fixing positions, says BPW, while the low cranking force required to raise or lower the legs reduces operator effort.
The ECO Airtank is made from fibreglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) – BPW says it offers a weight saving of up to 60 per cent compared with conventional steel tanks, while a simple clamping band makes the tank easy to install in either a vertical or horizontal position. Available in 60-litre, 80-litre or 120-litre options, the ECO Airtank is made from a corrosion-free material, says BPW, ensuring a long service life.
BPW says the latest generation of its ECO Cargo VB mechanical suspension is a cost-effective suspension solution for trucks in the range of nine to 12 tonnes with applications for between one and three axles.
Designed to handle use and abuse on our typically harsh Aussie roads, the suspension has been built in such a way as to afford quick and easy repairs, should they be required. Optimised bushing of the connecting rods and low-wear, long-life plates aid durability, while track setting has been made even easier by adopting technology from BPW’s proven air-suspension series.
The end result, says BPW, is greater service life, easier maintenance, and increased tyre life through precise track setting and optimum positioning of the connecting rods.
