Bridgestone expands Ecopia range

New sizes mean nearly all trailer and drive markets are now covered
Bridgestone Australia says it is continuing to underline its commitment to the heavy vehicle industry with the launch of four new sizes in its Ecopia range – completing its low-rolling-resistance drive and trailer range.

The new sizes mean Bridgestone Ecopia tyres are now available to almost 95 per cent of the trailer market and approximately 90 per cent of the drive market.

The new sizes include the 275/70R22.5 M749 drive tyres and the 265/70R19.5, 275/70R22.5 and 255/70R22.5 R109 trailer tyres.
"Fleets are continuing to make the switch to Bridgestone Ecopia and it’s no surprise why," said Bridgestone Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Andrew Moffatt.
"Our in-fleet testing across Australia means Ecopia has well and truly been put to the test since its launch in 2013. The key factor here is that we are consistently seeing fuel savings of up to six per cent."
It’s not just the fuel saving benefits that have appealed to Australian fleets – Bridgestone Ecopia’s ability to lower CO2 emissions through less fuel use means the product is an important asset for those looking to improve their environmental standing.
"It is now a business imperative for operators in the trucking industry to lower their emissions and improve their green credentials," Mr Moffatt said.

"Our Ecopia low-rolling-resistance drive and trailer tyres provide a very real way for operators to achieve this goal and we’ve been seeing an increasing amount of interest in Bridgestone Ecopia as a result."
Lindsay Transport recently partnered with Bridgestone to run its entire fleet on Ecopia tyres and said the move could reduce the company's CO2 emissions by almost 6000 tonnes annually.
To put that into perspective, the potential emissions saved would be equivalent to the company taking 18 of its B-doubles off the road every year.
"The move to run our entire fleet on Bridgestone Ecopia tyres, and what it will deliver in terms of real environmental benefits, is really exciting, said Lindsay Transport's Fleet Quality and Efficiency Manager Nick Lindsay (pictured right).
Lindsay Transport says it has long been focused on operating its fleet in the most efficient manner possible, using fuel efficient engines, aerodynamic kits and more. Now, the company has taken the next major step by switching to Bridgestone's innovative Ecopia Tyres.
