Bridgestone has demonstrated its environmental sustainability and dedication to th3e truck industry with the opening of its latest commercial tyre store in Canberra.
The Bridgestone Service Centre located in Hume features a solar panel array, energy-saving lighting, recycled rubber flooring and rainwater harvesting for toilets and garden areas, minimising the store’s environmental footprint and reducing long-term operating costs.
“The opening of this facility sets a benchmark for future developments and demonstrates Bridgestone’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and the trucking industry,” Bridgestone Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Andrew Moffatt said.
Planning for the Hume store began around 12 months ago, with rollout of similar facilities in both South Australia and Western Australia expected to occur over the next year.
In addition to the environmental initiatives, the Hume Bridgestone Service Centre is the only store in Canberra that boasts B-double drive-through truck bays, enhancing access and convenience for commercial customers. The facility will operate three truck bays and also offers passenger tyre fitment.
“The ability to offer unprecedented access and convenience to our valued truck customers reaffirms Bridgestone’s commitment to providing industry leading service,” Mr Moffatt said.
“This store adds to Bridgestone’s network of over 130 trucking stores that service the industry around Australia, supported by an additional 700 affiliated service providers.”
