Bridgestone Australia has teamed with not-for-profit trucking industry association NatRoad to further its support of the industry and help achieve mutual goals.
Bridgestone says these goals focus on the areas of safety and compliance, environmental sustainability, positive community awareness, fair and equitable workplace relations and national uniformity of regulation.
Bridgestone Australia and New Zealand Managing Director, Andrew Moffat, said the strengthening of the ties between the two organisations would benefit both parties and the wider industry.
"This platinum partnership solidifies our long held commitment to the Australian trucking industry's interests," he said.
"Bridgestone and NatRoad are both steadfastly committed to the advancement of the road transport industry and its members. We look forward to working with NatRoad on our joint focuses on safety, technology and environmental sustainability to help promote the industry and ensure its long-term viability."
NatRoad CEO, Warren Clarke, said the body was proud to be joining forces with such a high-profile industry player.
"We’re proud to be partnering with Bridgestone, an organisation who has a demonstrated commitment to the future of the Australian road transport industry," he said.
"NatRoad sees strength and value in the Bridgestone brand through its commitment to environmental sustainability, innovation and advanced technology. We're excited about partnering with Bridgestone who are constantly striving to build on their industry leadership with quality products and services."
Mr Clarke said NatRoad members can look forward to some great deals on Bridgestone products in the near future.
The partnership is just the latest move in Bridgestone's on-going support of the truck industry, which already includes its sponsorship of the ATA's Bridgestone Bandag Highway Guardian award for hero truckies, and the on-going development of its Ecopia low-rolling-resistance truck tyres, which can lower fuel consumption and therefore minimise a truck's environmental footprint.
