Allison Transmission says it will present its latest fuel-saving software, at the 2017 Brisbane Truck Show, May 25-28. The leading supplier of automatic transmissions for the Australian commercial-vehicle market will be in Hall 4 at Stand 92. FuelSense 2.0 is claimed to deliver up to six per cent additional fuel savings beyond the company's original FuelSense software. Available in three packages, FuelSense 2.0 uses a learning algorithm that allows fleets to optimise fuel economy and performance to their specific needs.
Through a set of proprietary software enhancements, the new FuelSense 2.0 technology uses DynActive Shifting for an infinitely variable combination of shift points.
More than 4.8 million test kilometres have been achieved with customer fleets representing a variety of duty-cycles. The company says that FuelSense 2.0 provides maximum value for applications with heavy start-stop needs, and is ideally suited for city bus, school bus, refuse, construction and distribution.
The available packages are FuelSense 2.0, FuelSense 2.0 Plus and FuelSense 2.0 Max. All three packages include DynActive Shifting. FuelSense 2.0 Plus and Max include improved Neutral at Stop. FuelSense 2.0 Max includes enhanced Acceleration Rate Management.
In addition to FuelSense 2.0, Allison will feature a wide range of its automatic transmissions at the Brisbane Truck Show. Attendees will also find a wide variety of Allison-equipped vehicles on display from Daimler, Freightliner, Fuso, Hino, Isuzu, Iveco, UD Trucks and Kenworth.
