Bruce Honeywill teams with Trucksales.com.au

Respected freelance journalist and trucking industry identity Bruce Honeywill has signed on to contribute to the editorial team at Trucksales.com.au…

Trucksales.com.au recently welcomed renowned Aussie trucking journalist Bruce Honeywill to its editorial line-up.

For anyone who’s had anything to do with the Australian truck industry over the past three decades, Bruce barely needs any introduction; suffice to say he’s widely respected as a font of truck industry knowledge.

Synonymous with Truckin’ Life magazine through the ’80s, he was also the founding editor of transport tabloid Big Rigs before spending another stint at Truckin’ Life as publisher and editor from 2011 to 2013.

Bruce has also worked as a senior journalist for the ABC and served as the head of news for indigenous television station Imparja, and has written and produced a number of television documentaries that have aired on major Australian networks over the years.

He’s taught journalism at a tertiary level in Australia and New Zealand and holds a full multi-combination licence; Bruce can still occasionally be found at the wheel of a road train on the Darwin route.

Based in Longreach, Queensland, more recently Bruce has turned his attention to writing novels, but will now be lending his expertise to the Trucksales.com.au team in a freelance capacity.

After taking the past 12 months to finish his latest novel, Insurrection, Bruce says he’s looking forward to getting his teeth stuck into the Aussie trucking scene once more.

“Australia needs the telling of real stories about the essential nature of road transport,” he said.

“We do not have the population or infrastructure to survive as the ‘wide, brown land’ without road transport. I look forward, in my own small way, to telling some of those stories with Trucksales.com.au and interpreting the industry in a relevant way.”

Trucksales.com.au editor, Rod Chapman, said Bruce’s input would further strengthen the Trucksales brand.

“It’s great to have Bruce along for the ride,” he said.

“With a rare combination of experience, specialist trucking knowledge and journalistic skill, Bruce has an uncanny ability to cut through to the core of any issue, while his relaxed, easy-reading style has won him a legion of fans over the years for good reason.”

Bruce will be contributing his typically insightful news articles, truck reviews and features to Trucksales.com.au from now on – simply click on his name under the search bar on the left-hand side of the Trucksales.com.au news landing page to find his articles.
