Cannon Logistics, a refrigerated transport firm that services around 90 clients throughout Queensland, recently purchased two 48-foot (14.6-metre) Maxi-CUBE refrigerated trailers to meet its growing business needs.
The fledgling family owned firm was established in 2006 and is based in the Brisbane suburb of Morningside, and says its association with Maxi-CUBE has enhanced its success through the crucial start-up years and beyond.
According to Cannon Logistics Managing Director, Zac Popov, the firm's Maxi-CUBE trailers offer reliability and dependability, and can maintain temperatures of down to minus 23 degrees C during multi-pickup and multi-drop days.
Mr Popov says that when the company recently looked to add a further two trailers to its existing fleet of 16 Maxi-CUBE rigs, there was only one company to which it would turn.
"Obviously pricing is always a factor when purchasing but one of the biggest reasons why I keep going back to Maxi-CUBE is the attention to detail when it comes to thermal efficiency and the van’s ability to withstand the hits and bumps of Queensland’s rough roads," he says.
"I believe if you can tick those boxes then you are onto a good way to build a reliable fleet. Since I took delivery of the first Maxi-CUBE refrigerated van, I haven’t had it off the road other than for routine servicing. After laying such a solid foundation, we soon asked Maxi-CUBE to help us reach that next level."
To reach that next level Mr Popov turned to Scott Thiesfield of Queensland Maxi-CUBE trailer dealer, Trailer Sales. Mr Thiesfield said Maxi-CUBE's latest offering was sure to help Mr Popov reach his goals.
"I knew that the improved refrigerated model was exactly what Zac was after to step it up a notch," says Mr Thiesfield.
"Dual Evaporators allow the cool temperatures to be equally distributed to all corners of the van, allowing for the stock to maintain its freshness at all times even when the doors are open during delivery.
"Knowing the focus was on safety, we also suggested Maxi-CUBE’s Maxi-GRIP Floor, which is pivotal for refrigeration fleets because it reduces the risk of injury due to wet or slippery floors and is suitable for use with both pallet jacks and fork lifts."
Having now taken delivery of his two latest Maxi-CUBE trailers, Mr Popov says he's thoroughly satisfied with the purchase and the added peace of mind the upgraded trailers deliver.
"In the cold storage and distribution industry there’s nothing worse than compromising the goods you carry through poor temperature management," he says.
"It causes unnecessary delays in deliveries and costs us money. This new design alleviates the possibility of damaged goods and keeps the vans on the road, where they should be."
