CIMC Vehicle Australia Pty Ltd, a part of the massive China International Marine Containers (CIMC) Group, has successfully gained its ISO 9001 certification.
Managing Director of CIMC Vehicle Australia Pty Ltd, Hector Ojeay (pictured), said the company – which was established in 2005 – was one of few in its sector that could call itself a ‘Quality Endorsed Company’.
Ojeay said gaining the certification was a logical step in the firm’s plan to become one of Australia’s leading semi-trailer manufacturers.
“Given the fact that our parent organisation, CIMC, has already been ISO/TS 16949 accredited for many years for all the products it manufactures for numerous different markets around the world, this certification really means a lot to CIMC Vehicle Australia,” he said.
“Whether it is trailers, rigid bodies, containers, cement mixers, fire trucks, garbage trucks or any other piece of equipment, the name CIMC is a byword for high quality and international integrity.”
Belonging to a Chinese parent company brought its challenges, says Ojeay.
“We had to overcome more than one obstacle to get to this point,” he says.
“People were quick to judge when we first came into the market, but we have proved them wrong. The saying is true: you can’t judge a book by its cover. We have justified our existence in the market faster than anyone expected, and today we are a powerful contender with a great group of people.
“We want to be the number one in the market, and we have the potential, the people and the product to reach that goal,” he said.
