Columbia targets mining sector

A new Freightliner campaign is extolling the virtues of its Columbia CL112 as a water cart truck for the mining industry
While it commonly employed as a concrete agitator, Freightliner has rolled out a new media campaign to promote its Columbia CL112 to the mining industry as an ideal water cart.
According to Rod West, Senior Manager for Freightliner Australia, the Columbia CL112 is a robust and rugged truck that is well equipped for the rigours of mining life.
"The CL112 is a diverse model that can be supported in remote conditions and is well suited to water cart tasks in the Australian mining industry," he said.
"With class-leading low chassis tare weight providing great capacity, a proven and robust American driveline and top to bottom reliability, the CL112 has been designed for quick and simple maintenance whilst providing drivers with a modern, comfortable and safe place to spend their time.
Powered by a Cummins ISLe5 engine rated up to 400hp and 1700Nm, the Columbia CL112 is available in 6x4, 8x4 and 10x4 configurations. A range of Eaton and Allison transmissions are available.
