Concrete relationship grows even stronger

A concrete business in Kyogle has continued its association with Isuzu courtesy of the FYJ 2000 medium auto

Long-time Isuzu customer, Graham’s Concrete in Kyogle, NSW, has added another one of the Japanese-made trucks to its fleet – the FYJ 2000 medium auto.

The eight-wheeler boasts a GVM of 30,000kg and delivers 257kw at 2000rpm and 1422Nm between 1200-1500rpm. Comfort-wise, the ride is assisted with a load-sharing front suspension equaliser, while the Isri 6860 air suspension driver’s seat has pneumatic lumbar support as well as height, rake and automatic weight adjustment.

“It’s great to have so much horsepower for a concrete truck, particularly where we are, because there are a lot of hills,” said Graham’s Concrete co-owner Peter Graham. “It saves us in time, fuel and money, which is obviously an advantage for our business.

“We’re big truck people and we’re out there looking all the time, we reckon this is as good as anything else in the market.”

For three generations, Graham family members have driven their Isuzus around northern New South Wales and southern Queensland, not only supplying Readymix concrete but also delivering their own products such as cattle grids, headwalls, troughs and septic systems.

Presently, the business has nine trucks in its fleet, with the plan to add another Isuzu within the next 12 months.
