Convoy for Cancer Families hits Canberra

The nation's capital is all set for a truck invasion, with the Convoy for Cancer Families 2014 charity run to be held on Sunday, February 2
Truckies and motorcyclists are making a bee line for Canberra, with the Convoy for Cancer Families 2014 poised to take participants and spectators alike to horsepower heaven, and all for a good cause.
To be staged on Sunday, February 2, 2014, the charity run will see a cavalcade of trucks and motorcycles roll from Copper Crescent in Beard, north of Queanbeyan, along Hindmarsh Drive and the Monaro Highway to the Morshead Drive exit. From there the procession will take Parkes Way and the Barton Highway, eventually finishing at the event’s festival site at Kate Crace Street, Gungahlin.
Last year’s event saw over $107,000 raised for local charity, The Cancer Support Group, and this year organisers are expecting an even bigger turnout, with an estimated 400 trucks and 120 motorcycles set to take to the ACT’s streets.
Registration can be made online, in person, or via telephone, with the fee of $50 per vehicle covering a commemorative tee-shirt, sticker, flag and stubbie holder.
Be a part of a great event that provides monetary assistance to cancer patients and their families during what is often a financially crippling time.
