This Sunday (October 4) will see the 2015 CQ Convoy take to the streets of Rockhampton and surrounds, as truckies come together and show their heart in an effort to raise funds for central Queensland's sick kids.
Registration is open until 7.00pm on Thursday and costs just $30 for trucks – a pittance to pay for a great day out and to help kids in need.
Vehicles will assemble at CQ University in Rockhampton from 6.00am (entry via Norman Road), with the convoy to leave under police escort at 8.30am via the bottom gate onto the Bruce Highway for the run to Paradise Lagoons, to Rockhampton's west.
Gates open at Paradise Lagoons at 10.00am, and there convoy participants and spectators will enjoy a family fun day with a truck show, live entertainment, amusement rides, trade display, petting zoo, magic show and more. A licenced bar and food will also be available.
CQ Convoy is a registered not-for-profit and volunteer-run organisation, with money raised from the event going towards the purchase of paediatric-specific medical equipment for central Queensland's hospitals.
The organisation's work means fewer families need to make the long journey to Brisbane for medical treatment, meaning those sick children can stay closer to or at home during treatment, where they also benefit from the support of their support network.
