The three finalists for this year's Craig Roseneder Award have been announced by the Australian Trucking Association, with Laeton Hardy from New South Wales, Glenn Griffiths from Victoria, and Damien Allison from Tasmania in the running to claim the coveted title.
The Craig Roseneder Award recognises individuals who display technical and maintenance excellence in a heavy vehicle workshop – people who go above and beyond their normal duty to ensure Australia's trucks are kept in peak condition.
Laeton Hardy is from Hardy's Haulage in Cudgera Creek, NSW, while Glenn Griffiths is from Ron Finemore Transport in Wodonga, Victoria, and Damien Allison is from De Bruyn's Transport in Burnie, Tasmania.
The winner of this year's award will be following in the footsteps of 2013 winner Wayne Merrick, NSW Senior Asset Supervisor from Boral Logistics (pictured), with the accolade to be announced at the Castrol Vecton Awards Dinner on Tuesday, October 28, to be held as part of the PACCAR and Dealer Technical & Maintenance Conference in Melbourne.
Noelene Watson, ATA Chair, said the awards provided official recognition of the vital work carried out by those who maintain the Australian trucking fleet.
"Safety and preventative maintenance are top priorities for the industry, so it’s essential for operators to have people in their workshop who go the extra mile and think of a better way to do things in the future," she said.
"This year's finalists for the Craig Roseneder Award do just that, having demonstrated an above-and-beyond approach to vehicle and workshop safety.
"We are fortunate to have such talented and dedicated people in our industry, and I congratulate our finalists on their achievement."
Thanks to award sponsor Castrol Vecton, the winner will receive flights to and registration for the American Trucking Association's 2015 Technology & Maintenance Council Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition in Nashville, Tennessee, plus $A1500 spending money. They will also receive complimentary registration to TMC 2015.
Registration for the 2014 PACCAR and Dealer TMC costs $495. To register or for more information visit www.truck.net.au/tmc.
