The Commercial Vehicles Industry Association of Queensland (CVIAQ) is hosting its 12th President’s Charity Dinner in Brisbane on Saturday, May 31, where an exclusive Mack Southern Cross Titan will headline the drive to raise vital funds for the Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland.
‘Goldie’, as the truck is known, is the last of just 30 limited-edition Southern Cross Titans built by Mack to commemorate the manufacturer’s 50th anniversary of truck production in this country. The exclusive 685hp (504kW) truck features a striking gold cab and chassis, the distinctive hue paying homage to Australia’s shimmering outback.
Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland supports patients living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders. It also dedicates $1.3 million to medical research each year.
Bill Petch, CEO of the Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland, said the evening would provide the organisation with a welcome boost.
“Since its inception in 2002, the partnership between the Foundation and CVIAQ has raised in excess of one million dollars to support patients and families affected by blood cancer,” he said.
“We are delighted to once again be the beneficiary of the President’s Charity Dinner, which promises to be a fantastic evening and a highlight of the industry calendar.
“Our sincere thanks must also go to Mack Trucks, which has generously donated a very special edition of its prime mover for auction.”
Held at the Main Auditorium of Brisbane City Hall, this year’s dinner includes a three-course meal, a silent auction, a raffle, entertainment and the main event – the auction of ‘Goldie’.
Limited tickets are available at $210 per person or $2100 for a table of 10. Call (07) 3318 4472 to make a booking.
