In a big surprise at the Brisbane Truck Show, DAF gave us our first look at the DAF XG+ 660.
Due to launch locally in 2024, the XG+ 660 builds on the success of the New Generation DAF XG+, which won International Truck of the Year in Europe in 2022.
Thanks to PACCAR’s Bayswater engineering team working in partnership with PACCAR centres of excellence around the world, the DAF XG+ 660 is the biggest design project in DAF Trucks Australia’s history.
As the new flagship for DAF, the XG+ is the pinnacle of European luxury, offering space and comfort in an elongated cab that delivers outstanding field of vision.
We climbed into the cab for a look and it was a real eye-opener. A full digital dash, optional mirror cameras and beautiful fit and finish will make this truck stand out when it arrives next year.
Alongside the interior space and styling, another real benefit of this all-new cab is excellent aerodynamic performance, a cornerstone of this new-generation DAF truck, which delivers a 19 per cent improvement, we're told.
DAF says more detail will be shared as the project approaches launch, but it will deliver a unique and specialised product for Australia – built right here in Australia alongside Kenworth and existing DAF models in PACCAR Australia's Bayswater plant.
