Daily boost for Qld sparkie

Brisbane electrician says Iveco's largest Daily delivers added space to meet his needs

Queensland electrician Steve Taylor, owner and operator of Steven Taylor & Co Electrix, says his new Iveco Daily has delivered a major boost for his business, giving him all the space he needs to carry out his work.

Steve's Daily 50C17 is the largest in the Iveco line-up and boasts an internal capacity of 19.6 cubic metres, allowing him plenty of room to store a wide range of parts and equipment.

"The Daily is half a metre longer in the back than my previous van, which is great," he says.

"I've been able to carry a couple more ladders that I couldn't previously. It's also freed up quite a large area that I can use to store bigger items like switchboards and stoves for installation, along with all my essential gear."

Steve says he purchased the Daily, which has a 170hp, 3.0-litre engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, after his existing van suddenly reached the end of its service life.

He says the Daily's internal capacity was a big drawcard.

"I need to be able to stand up easily in the rear section to gather the required parts for the job at hand, and for my van to carry my two-tonne payload of tools and stock items," he says.

"And if I wish to pay a bit more registration, an additional 700kg of stuff can be added legally."

The Daily's handling is also a highlight, says Steve.

"With the Iveco Daily, I just can't believe how light the steering is and how much heavier to drive the front-wheel drive felt," he says.

"I'm really impressed with the lightness of this Iveco; weighing just under four-and-a-half tonnes loaded, it feels as light as a little car to drive.

"My new van is everything I want in a van. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Daily to all other trade services people."
