Daimler appoints new PR expert

Daimler Truck & Bus has appointed veteran automotive journalist Geoff Paradise as a senior PR specialist across its three truck brands
The local arm of Daimler Truck & Bus has bolstered its public relations team with the appointment of Geoff Paradise (pictured) to the position of Senior Manager, Public Affairs.
Mr Paradise, an experience automotive and commercial vehicle journalist, will now be representing Daimler's three trucks brands in Australia: Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, and Fuso.
The new position was recently announced by Daimler Truck & Bus Managing Director, Daniel Whitehead.
"Since my arrival earlier this year it became clear that we needed to build our team to better support our key stakeholders – our customers, our dealers and the media," he said.
"A key component of this included a specialist public affairs manager to satisfy the needs of our rapidly expanding portfolio.
"This is a great result for our business that someone of Geoff’s calibre and credentials within the industry has decided to work with the Daimler Truck & Bus brand and we are confident this is yet another step that gears our business towards market leadership.
"Geoff’s extensive background and experience in commercial vehicles and automotive journalism will greatly increase awareness of our wide product range and make it easier for all sections of the media and the public to stay connected with our brands."
Mr Paradise, who has for the last 15 years been the publisher and Editor in Chief of industry magazines Transport & Trucking Today and Coach & Bus, said he's relishing the new role.
"After a decade and a half the time was right to take on a new challenge," he said.
"This role provides a unique opportunity with one of the world’s leading automotive brands. There is some magnificent product within the Daimler Truck & Bus Group and even more to come over the next few years and I look forward to being involved during what is an important period for the Mercedes-Benz, Fuso and Freightliner brands."
Mr Paradise assumed his new role on Monday, October 20.
