Daimler Dealer of the Year awards

Daimler Trucks Perth has been named the 2017 Daimler Truck and Bus Australia Pacific Dealer of the Year at a recent ceremony in Melbourne. The dealership won the newly introduced award for the best performing dealership across the Fuso, Freightliner and Mercedes-Benz brands.

Daimler Truck and Bus Australia Pacific President and CEO, Daniel Whitehead, presented the award to former Daimler Trucks Perth Dealer Principal and current Automotive Holdings Group General Manager - Trucks, Simon Ramsay.

“Several dealerships excelled in 2017, but there was one that really stood out,” Mr Whitehead said. “The performance of Daimler Trucks Perth was amazing however you choose to measure it, be it sales, growth or customer satisfaction. The Perth team has done a remarkable job and is a very worthy recipient of this award,” he added.

The Fuso, Freightliner and Mercedes-Benz brands also celebrated their own outstanding dealers and dealership staff, with Dealer of the Year titles awarded to both metropolitan and regional categories for all three brands.

The 2017 Fuso Regional Dealer of the Year was awarded to Murwillumbah Truck Centre and presented to Dealer Principal, Steve Bedser. The dealership was described as a great family business and praised for taking great pride in its work.

Fuso’s 2017 Metropolitan Dealer of the Year winner was Whitehorse Truck and Bus and the award was presented to Dealer Principal, Steve Evans. Mr Evans was lauded as a passionate advocate for Fuso, going above and beyond for the brand, his customers and his team.

The 2017 Freightliner Regional Dealer of the Year was awarded to Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast and presented to its Dealer Principal, Cameron O’Hara. Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast’s drive to deliver first class customer service was cited as underpinning its exceptional result.

Freightliner’s 2017 Metropolitan Dealer of the Year winner was Daimler Trucks Perth and the award was presented to Dealer Principal, Sean Edwards. The dealership was commended for its strong sales result and its concentrated customer focus throughout the entire business that was reflected in great customer satisfaction scores.

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz Regional Dealer of the Year was awarded to Mavin Truck Centre Kempsey and presented to Dealer Principal, Dean Mavin. It was noted that Mavin Truck Centre achieved some major volume increases, while the team’s outstanding focus and commitment to keep the customer moving was also a standout.

Mercedes-Benz’s 2017 Dealer of the Year was Daimler Trucks Perth and the award was presented to Dealer Principal, Sean Edwards. Sales and service were identified as the two key strengths of Daimler Trucks Perth, which greatly increased the presence for Mercedes-Benz in the area and developed new business for the brand.

Daimler Truck and Bus also announced key awards for each brand that celebrate both the sales staff and the crucially important ‘back of house’ staff in service and parts sourcing.
