
The Australian Trucking Association has announced that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development, Michael McCormack, will be a keynote speaker at its Trucking Australia 2020 conference, to be held in Cairns (Qld) over April 1-3.
"Michael McCormack understands trucking and the vital role it plays in the Australian economy and our way of life," said ATA CEO, Ben Maquire.
"We are proud to welcome him to join our conference delegates."
The ATA's annual national conference, Trucking Australia, sees hundreds of operators, suppliers and other stakeholders come together to discuss all the pertinent issues affecting road freight transport today.
"The ATA has a strong and effective working relationship with Mr McCormack and the Australian Government," Mr Maguire said.
"We look forward to hearing the Government's plans for improving road safety and taking action on issues that matter most to Australia's hardworking trucking businesses."

Mr McCormack said road transport played a critical and crucial role in Australia.
