Road freight operators in NSW will now have the opportunity to receive crucial information about the latest issues facing the industry first hand with the launch of the first NSW Road Freight Forum.
The Forum will be held on Wednesday September 7, 2016 at the Rooty Hill RSL in Sydney.
"This is a not to be missed event for all road freight operators in NSW, as attendees will receive critical updates about the road freight industry and find out about how upcoming changes to road and freight laws could affect your business," RFNSW General Manager Simon O’Hara said.
NSW Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight, Duncan Gay (pictured) will open the conference with plenary sessions following throughout the day focusing around the changes to the General Contract Carriers Determination (GCCD), chain of responsibility and contract laws, technical advice and industry best practice.
"We will hear from industry experts and NSW policy makers on these vital topics, while networking with other road freight businesses," Mr O'Hara said.
Along with the Forum, the 2016 RFNSW Awards also opened for nominations recently. RFNSW will present three awards: Outstanding Contribution to the NSW Trucking Industry, NSW Professional Driver of the Year and NSW Transport Women of the Year. "These prestigious awards recognise outstanding industry professionals operating in the road freight industry in NSW," Mr O’Hara said.
The three awards will be presented to the winners at the RFNSW Awards dinner following the NSW Road Freight Forum on September 7. The winners will received trophies, industry recognition and will be nominated for the 2017 National Trucking Industry Awards.
