When Kenny Easter wanted something special for his K S Easter fleet, the team at Viking Mafia – the customising arm of Queensland-based Viking Trucks – certainly delivered, creating this striking vision of Volvo's FH 600 Globetrotter.
Unveiled in Brisbane just before the recent Brisbane Truck Show, the truck features the custom paint artistry of renowned maestro Mike Lavallee, whose work has previously featured on Discovery Channel's Monster Garage and TLC's Overhaulin' and Rides.
The inspiration for the theme stems from the K S Easter pegasus logo, which Mike then applied with his signature TRUE FIRE airbrush technique. The end result is nothing short of stunning, with flames that seem to lick around the entire cab.
The truck also benefits from custom alloy deck plates, a custom rear bumper, stainless steel in-fill panels and CNC-cut custom wheels – the pegasus motifs at the centre of the hubs even feature real gold leaf!
The build process kicked off at the Volvo factory in Brisbane and was carried through to completion by a dedicated team of custom experts.
According to Jason Ryan, Manager of Viking Trucks, the finished truck has exceeded all expectations.
"What we do is not always what people expect, but the end result is always what we strive for and that's purely custom and new," he said.
"We want to push the envelope with our own style and this can only happen when people like Ken Easter Sr and Kenny Easter Jr trust me to get it right.
"In the past few months about 12 men have worked from 5.00am through until midnight. We couldn't do this without the incredible effort and loyalty of everyone involved. Having the idea isn't worth anything without the team to make it a reality."
So if you spot Ken Easter's flamin' beauty heading down the highway, relax – it's not actually on fire, but it does have the hottest paint in town!
