Foton Mobility Distribution (FMD) has announced a major change to its distribution model, assuming full responsibility for the Foton EV truck brand in Victoria and South Australia from next month.
The move ends its partnership with Sustainable Vehicle Solutions (SVS), which has managed the brand’s distribution in the two states for the past two years.
“We greatly value the work SVS has done in establishing the Foton brand over the past two years,” said FMD CEO and founder, Neil Wang.
“As we look to the future, we’re excited to engage more directly with our customers in Victoria and South Australia—two of the fastest-growing markets for electric commercial vehicles.”
The CMV Group, parent company of SVS, also welcomed the change, noting its support for FMD’s decision to engage more directly with customers.
“We recognise the role SVS has played in introducing light-duty electric trucks to the market and supporting customers in the transition to EV transport solutions across Victoria and South Australia,” said CMV Joint Managing Director, Miles Crawford.
“As the electric commercial vehicle market continues to evolve, we support FMD’s decision and are committed to ensuring a smooth and professional transition.”
The companies said they would work closely together in the coming weeks to ensure continuity of service for existing Foton EV owners.
FMD described the move as a “strategic realignment” that reflects its commitment to leadership in the zero-emissions commercial vehicle sector. The company said it aims to accelerate the roll-out of sustainable transport solutions across the country.
