Foton offers ‘unmatched’ warranty

Leading zero-emissions transport solutions firm, Foton Mobility Distribution, has announced what the company claims to be an industry-leading warranty of 8-year/400,000kms for its Foton T5 electric trucks, which is a 100,000km extension of its previous offering.

The new warranty offering is available from September 1st, 2024, with servicing terms and conditions applicable.

All Foton T5 truck owners will also continue to receive additional security via NTI Truck Assist’s 24/7 roadside assistance offering for 5-year/200,000km.

“Obviously, the warranty demonstrates the high quality of our products and gives owners extra peace of mind. However, this move also provides a range of additional benefits and breaks down entry barriers for companies looking to make the switch to pure electric transport.

According the Foton, the T5’s leading point of difference is its unique 3500kg braked towing capacity, making it highly adaptable. For example, the ready-to-go T5 EV tipper features an Australian-made steel tipper body that is ideal for use in municipalities and by landscaping companies.

The model is available with a rated GVM of 4500kg for operation with a car licence, or 6000kg for light rigid licenced drivers, with either option allowing for towing.

According to Foton, the T5 truck features around 20 per cent lower upfront and operating costs, with fuel expenses eliminated.

DC fast charging allows for full recharging in 1.5 hours, or alternatively, the standard 11kW AC onboard charger can fully recharge the drive battery in just 7.2 hours, allowing for overnight turnarounds.

The Foton T5 has a fully loaded range of 200km and a full safety suite, including a Low-Speed Pedestrian Warning System, a comprehensive electronic braking and stability support package, dual SRS airbags, as well as a reversing radar and buzzer.
