Fuso has announced that its urban tipper can now carry an additional half-tonne of payload.
The change means the 515 City Cab factory tipper is the only narrow cab tipper rated at 6-tonne (GVM).
The 515 has been designed from the ground up as a tipper and is the only Japanese tipper model to come with an integrated strengthened chassis to support the tipper tray and mechanism, rather than a separate sub-frame, we’re told.
This brings the advantage of a lower tare weight, as well as a lower centre of gravity.
Just like other Canter models, the 515 City Cab factory tipper comes with Fuso’s five-year manufacturer warranty.
“The 515 City Cab tipper has been a great compact truck for operators who sometimes need to operate in tight environments,” says Fuso Truck and Bus Director, Justin Whitford.
“With an additional 500kg of payload, it is now an even more appealing proposition, especially when you consider Fuso’s low running costs, our free first service offer and our five-year warranty.”
For customers who require more space in the cab, Fuso also offers the 715 Wide Cab Tipper.
Both the narrow cab and wide cab models feature tough tipper trays that are fitted in Japan and are equipped with tipper-specific front beam suspension and powerful front disc brakes with twin calipers.
Fuso factory tippers also come standard with a limited slip differential (LSD) for better traction.
The Canter tippers also feature 30,000km service intervals to keep running costs down.
Customers can choose from a five-speed manual transmission or a quick-shifting Duonic dual-clutch transmission.
Canter models come standard with a touch screen multi-media system featuring a satellite navigation system that comes with three-years of free map upgrades. The screen also displays footage from a reversing camera that is now fitted as standard on most Fuso models.
The Canter manufacturer warranty covers five years/200,000km or 4000 operating hours, whichever comes first.
