Fuso's 4x4 Canter heads west

Fuso off-roader to go on show at fire and emergency services exhibition in Perth this week

Western Australians will have a chance to inspect Fuso's FG 4x4 Canter from tomorrow (Wednesday, September 5), with the model to be displayed at the Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC) exhibition in Perth.

Fuso Truck and Bus will be displaying the short-wheelbase variant of the Fuso 4x4, with the single-cab model in question incorporating a Quik Corp light pumper body.

The 4x4 Canter is also available as a crew cab with seating for up to seven.

Fuso says this short-wheelbase model has a class-leading turning circle of 11.4 metres; the 4x4 FG Canter is also available in a long-wheelbase format.

The model can be specified with GVMs of 6500kg or 4500kg, the latter allowing them to be driven on a car licence.

The 4x4 Canter's off-road arsenal spans a dual-ranger transfer case, a limited-slip differential, and off-road tyres, along with CV joint protection, drum brakes, and a hill-hold feature. Other safety features include dual driver and passenger airbags and a reversing camera as standard.

The 4x4 FG Canter comes with a five-year or 200,000-kilometre factory warranty (whichever comes first), while service intervals are pegged at 30,000 kilometres.

All Canters sold before September 30 come with free Best Basic scheduled servicing for 100,000 kilometres or three years (whichever comes first), covering the truck for selected parts, oil and labour as specified in the service book.
