The heavy vehicle rest area on the northbound carriageway of the Hume Highway at Glenrowan, Victoria, has been earmarked for $1.84 million in improvements.
A part of the state and federal Road Freight Initiatives Programme, the rest stop currently has parking for eight trucks and also features toilets, lighting and two picnic tables.
The upgrade will see the truck stop expanded to incorporate new bays for B-doubles, while new toilet facilities will also be provided.
Work is expected to begin on the truck stop early next year.
