Hino Motor Sales Australia recently appointed Bill Gillespie to the role of Divisional Manager – Brand and Franchise Development and Daniel Petrovski to the role of Manager – Product Strategy.
Mr Gillespie (pictured, before 300 Series model) brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously held management positions for companies including Nissan, Toyota, Kia and Peugeot. He has also previously run his own consultancy business.
Mr Gillespie’s new position certainly demands a broad skills base, as it encompasses elements of roles such as dealer development, after-sales management, corporate brand development, marketing and customer care.
Mr Gillespie, who has previously worked at Toyota with Hino Chairman and CEO, Steve Lotter, said he was relishing the transition.
“After a lifetime of work in the passenger vehicle market, I’m looking forward to the challenges in the truck industry,” he said.
“I’ve worked successfully with Steve Lotter in the past; I can see nothing but a bright future for Hino in Australia and I’m glad to be a part of it.”
Meanwhile Daniel Petrovski (pictured, with bright blue tie), who is in his seventh year at Hino, has moved up to take on the role of Manager – Product Strategy.
Mr Petrovski said his latest role would comprise a number of functions within the business.
“My team and I work closely with our sales and marketing divisions, our dealers and our customers, identifying the most suitable product line-up and model mix for our customers’ unique needs,” he said.
“This area of the business is basically the funnel between Hino’s factory engineers and the Australian market.”
Mr Petrovski said his appointment to the role – which represents his fifth promotion since joining Hino Motor Sales Australia as Strategic Sales Coordinator in 2006 – reflects the brand’s philosophy of developing its employees’ skills and knowledge and rewarding their contributions.
“I appreciate that Hino Australia has helped and encouraged me to develop my career within the organisation to the point where I can now provide Australian market expertise and local knowledge direct to the Hino engineers in Japan, for the development of Australian-market-specific vehicles,” he said.
