A multi-faceted Queensland towing company has boosted the capability of its fleet with three new Hino trucks from the light-, medium- and heavy-duty ranges.
Wil-Tow has added a 700 Series High Roof 2848 with Super Tilt trailer, a 500 Series FE 1426 with tilt tray, and a 300 Series 616 fitted with a body for roadside assist duties.
They have grown Wil-Tow's Hino fleet to a total of 21 trucks used in its vehicle towing, roadside assist and machinery transport divisions.
Wil-Tow Director Steve Wilson said Hino trucks are featuring in their expanding fleet because they provide a very important element for running a tow truck business – reliability.
"The Wil-Tow fleet is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week and we need our fleet to be ready to respond to anything," Mr Wilson said.
"Having towing, roadside assist and machinery transport divisions means that our Hino trucks are driven in a range of conditions – city and suburban traffic, highways and rough dirt roads well off the beaten track.
"They stand up well to whatever is thrown at them. We're confident that they'll keep serving us reliably and help meet our customers' needs.
"The last thing a tow truck driver wants to do is call another tow truck."
The creature comforts and safety features of the 300, 500 and 700 Series trucks are also appreciated by Wil-Tow's drivers, says Mr Wilson.
"Our drivers find all the Hino trucks comfortable, and they like the multimedia units fitted to the latest models.
"The standard safety features also add peace of mind."
Mr Wilson said Hino Australia's sales and aftersales support network is great to deal with at a local level and another reason to grow Wil-Tow with Hino trucks.
"We regularly deal with Vanderfield and Sci-Fleet Hino, and get good support from both."
Wil-Tow was established in Toowoomba in 1979 as Wilsons Towing. It now employs 40 tow truck drivers at its depots in Brisbane, Toowoomba, Gold Coast, Gympie, Dalby, Chinchilla, Roma and the Sunshine Coast.
