Hino continues with Team 18

The long-standing relationship between Hino and the Team 18 Supercars race team is set to continue for the 2024 season

In a partnership that now spans eight years, Hino Australia has confirmed its commitment to Team 18 for the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship through sponsorship of Mark Winterbottom’s #18 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

A former Supercars Champion and Bathurst 1000 winner who broke through for Team 18’s first race victory in Darwin in 2023, Winterbottom is poised for strong results in 2024, particularly with the appointment of former Supercars Head of Motorsport Adrian Burgess as Team Principal at Team 18.

“We are really excited about what 2024 holds for Team 18 and our partnership with them – we can’t wait to see the car take to the track at the season opener at the Thrifty Bathurst 500,” said Richard Emery, President and CEO for Hino Australia.

“In addition to our partnership with Team 18, Hino Australia remains as the Official Light and Medium Duty Truck Sponsor of the Supercars Championship, plus the Official Sponsor of the Supercars Recovery Team and the popular Hino Hub in the television broadcast.

“Supercars continues to be the right sporting category for us as it engages with our current and future customers," said Mr Emery.

“Team 18 owner Charlie Schwerkolt and his team work incredibly hard, and we are confident they will deliver strong results again in 2024,” he added.

The Hino branding will feature prominently on the front scallops, rear quarter and rear number plate of Winterbottom’s car.

"It's been an incredible journey over the past eight years with Hino Australia," said Charlie Schwerkolt. "We're thrilled to continue our successful partnership into the 2024 season.

"We're particularly excited to increase the Hino presence on Mark Winterbottom's DEWALT Racing Camaro.

“Mark's proven talent, combined with some key recruitments in the off-season in the form of new Team Principal Adrian Burgess sets the stage for an exciting season ahead.

"Hino Australia's commitment to engaging with Supercars fans and their customers aligns perfectly with our own values, and we're confident that together we'll achieve great success on and off the track this year," he concluded.

“I'm incredibly grateful for Hino Australia's continued support of Team 18 and I'm thrilled to see their backing increase on my DEWALT Camaro for the 2024 Championship.

“We’ve worked closely with the Hino team and visited many of their dealerships and customers over the years. The iconic Hino red branding on the front bumper and rear quarter of the car looks fantastic and will stand out on the track this year,” he concluded.

The 2024 Repco Supercars Championship starts at the Thrifty Bathurst 500 on 23-25 February.
