Hino Australia has expanded its regional footprint, opening a new dealership in Shepparton in Victoria’s Goulburn Valley.
Operated by the Jacob Group – which has run Jacob Hino in Wodonga for 25 years – the greenfield site represents a significant investment in the region, with more than $8 million spent on the 17,000sqm facility.
Hino Australia president and CEO, Richard Emery, said Shepparton’s strong ties to the fruit and dairy industries made it a logical next step for expansion.
“Shepparton is the heart of Victoria’s fruit and dairy industries, and we see strong growth opportunities here, particularly for our 700 Series heavy-duty trucks,” he said.

The new dealership includes a modern showroom, five truck work bays, dedicated Hino technicians and a purpose-built parts storage facility, and is expected to create at least 25 jobs.
Dealer principal, Neville Jacob, said the site will host nine businesses, with Hino occupying nearly half the footprint, alongside additional offerings including motorcycle dealerships and a Hertz branch.
“The Hertz business will allow us to provide our fruit-picking customers with purpose-built 12-pallet rental vehicles while their trucks are being serviced,” he said.
The facility also features an EV charging station, solar power and energy-efficient lighting, as well as a dedicated handover bay for customers.
Jacob said the dealership is expected to support a wide range of operators, with the Hino 700 Series targeting heavy-duty interstate and intrastate haulage, while the 300 Series caters to tradies and small businesses.
Hino Australia’s network now spans more than 60 sales and service centres nationwide.
