In the year of its 50th anniversary, Hino Australia is leading the way in terms of year-to-date truck sales, with the brand achieving year-on-year growth of 15.6 per cent to the end of September – 14 per cent above the figure for the entire truck market.
The brand enjoyed a particularly strong September, with registrations of new Hino trucks and buses up 22.9 per cent on the same month last year.
The company says it's performing strongly in all three segments of the truck market, with sales up 17.5 per cent in light duty, up 15.0 per cent in medium duty, and up 6.7 per cent in heavy duty – the latter flying in the face of an overall drop of 7.0 per cent.
Hino CEO Steve Lotter said the results were proof the company's total product and service offering was on track.
"The 2015 sales results represent a fantastic effort from all involved," he said.
"They show recognition in the marketplace of the quality, durability and reliability in every Hino model.
"The results also demonstrate the market's regard for the class-leading safety and performance of the 300 Series, the benefit of true automatic transmissions on models like the 500 Series FE Auto (pictured), and the capability of our flagship 700 Series.
"It is a challenging climate for selling trucks, but I have no doubt that Hino Australia will work with the same vigour that earned us these great results for the remaining months of 2015."
