Hino says it’s assembled a broad cross-section of its wares for display at Melbourne’s 2014 International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show (ITTES), from road-going workhorses to the 500 Series race machine that conquered its class in the 2011 Dakar Rally.
Known affectionately as a ‘Little Monster’, the Dakar winner is sure to draw plenty of interest at this year’s ITTES, and Hino Australia’s Product Planning Manager, Daniel Petrovski, says it underlines Hino’s proven performance credentials.
“The Dakar truck is a true performance standout,” he said.
“Its 170km/h top speed makes it the fastest Hino at the show and the additional race modifications that have been carried out helped it conquer some incredibly tough conditions in South America.”
Also vying for the limelight at the Hino stand will be a heavy-duty offering from the 700 Series, the SS 700 2848 ProShift 16 Air High Roof, along with medium-duty 500 Series GT 1322 4x4 and 500 Series FD 1124, the latter with ProShift 6 AMT transmission.
The new ‘High Horsepower’ incarnations of Hino’s 300 Series trucks will also be represented, with the light-duty 921 Auto single cab TradeAce and 921 Auto crew cab models on show.
Hino’s 300 Series 716 Hybrid will also be at the ITTES, giving showgoers an insight into the fruits of Hino’s collaboration with the Toyota Motor Corporation in the realm of diesel-electric technology.
The 2014 International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show will be held at Melbourne’s Royal Showgrounds over April 3-6. April 3-4 are reserved as trade days while April 5-6 sees the show open its doors to the public.
