Hire company expands Hino fleet

TFH Hire Services has just purchased two Hino 500 Series FC 1022 ProShift 6 trucks to its line-up, bringing its fleet of Hino models to over 60
The recent addition of two Hino 500 Series trucks to the TFH Hire Services fleet has pushed the company's range to over 60 Hinos at its Sydney and Brisbane operations.
TFH Hire Services supplies fencing, flooring and portable toilets to a wide variety of major sporting and cultural events, including certain V8 Supercars rounds, the Nikon SuperGP (formerly the Indy Grand Prix), the Melbourne Cup, and the Big Day Out and Splendour in the Grass music festivals. The company now has over 30 branches across Australia.
The company just bought two FC 1022 ProShift 6 models, with the potential for another two to follow in the near future.
According to the firm's Operations Manager, Stephen Sheehan, the family-owned company was in need of some bigger hardware.
"They'll be used for the growing portable toilet hire part of our business and we needed a larger truck to handle the bigger loads," he says.
"They'll be ideal for that purpose with their longer wheelbase, 162kW of power and six-speed ProShift automatic transmission."
Mr Sheehan says the some of its oldest Hinos have now been in operation since 1992 and have racked up over 1.3 million kilometres.
"They're still running well and while we refurbish them from time to time, the fact that they're still performing is a real testament to how well they're built," he said.
Like most of its Hino fleet, TFH Hire Services turned to the Sci-Fleet Hino dealership in south-east Queensland to order the new trucks.
"We could have considered another brand but we've had excellent service from the Hinos and the people at Sci-Fleet, so it just made sense to upgrade from the Hino range," Mr Sheehan said.
Mr Sheehan said the Hinos were very popular with the company's drivers, who appreciated their comfort, versatility, and ease of use.
"The drivers find the Hinos very comfortable and easy to drive; it's just like driving a car," he said.
"We service about 90 per cent of the major sporting and cultural events around the country, so many of our trucks are doing long-haul trips. The comfort features like cruise control, the fully adjustable ISRI 6800 driver's seat, and comprehensive multimedia systems are really appreciated by our drivers.
"With a varied business like ours the versatility of the Hino fleet makes a real difference."
