Fuso was recently awarded the title of 'Irish Green Commercial of the Year' at the Fleet Transport Awards in Dublin for its Canter Eco Hybrid, repeating the model's success of 2012.
Hosted by Fleet Transport, a leading Irish transport magazine, the Canter Eco Hybrid impressed a panel of expert judges spanning engineers, automotive journalists and driving instructors across 12 criteria.
With points awarded across fields including fuel efficiency, power-to-weight ratio, driving and ride comfort, handling, and cab equipment and appointments, the model defeated some stiff competition to claim the prestigious title.
The award was accepted in Dublin by Kevin Kealy from Ireland's Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus agency.
"We are proud to receive this award for the second time, once again confirming the hybrid vehicle's environmental acceptability," he said of the model, which Fuso says requires up to 23 per cent less fuel than the standard diesel equivalent.
Underlining Fuso's commitment to cleaner technologies in the road transport sector, the Canter Eco Hybrid was recently joined by the Canter E-Cell. The manufacturer's first all-electric light-duty truck, the Canter E-Cell was recently unveiled at the IAA commercial vehicles expo in Hanover, Germany.
