Isuzu and Tickford combine for Supercars

Isuzu to sponsor Jack Le Brocq in a Tickford Mustang for the third successive year

Isuzu Australia has announced its continued sponsorship of the Tickford Racing team in the 2021 Repco Australia Supercars Championship.

Isuzu welcomed its third consecutive year of sponsorship, backing lead driver, Jack Le Brocq, in conjunction with sponsors NTI Truck Assist.

Coming off the back of a Supercars season marred by COVID-19 disruptions, IAL Head of Marketing and Customer Experience, John Walker, expressed his excitement for the 2021 Championship calendar.

“It’s exciting to get the season underway again alongside Tickford Racing and driver Jack Le Brocq at the spiritual home of racing, Mount Panorama,” Mr Walker said.

“We’re expecting to see some great action on the track as the competition comes back fighting from an interrupted 2020.”

Tickford’s line-up sees 28-year-old Le Brocq get back behind the wheel of the No. 5 Ford Mustang GT, one of three Mustangs on the track for Tickford this year.

Le Brocq ran a solid campaign last year, taking the maiden race win at Sydney Motorsports Park and a podium finish at Tailem Bend later in the year.

Le Brocq said race fans can expect to see the Tickford Team come out firing at February’s Mount Panorama 500, building on an impressive race legacy.

“The team and I are feeling confident and ready to go for the first round,” Le Brocq said.

“I have a brand-new car for the season and it has tested very well, and a new engineer in Sam Scaffidi so everything is in place to have a very competitive year, it’s exciting.

“It’s great to be back aboard the Truck Assist entry in partnership with Isuzu Trucks in the #5 Mustang, I am very keen to carry our new colours to the podium regularly.”

Isuzu’s sponsorship of Tickford Racing is an acknowledgment of the ongoing synergy between Isuzu truck owners and their passion for Australian motor racing.

“Motorsport and more specifically, the Supercars Championship, is a much-loved Australian tradition and we’re delighted to take part again in 2021,” Mr Walker said.

“Our aim is to bring Isuzu customers closer to the action, with exclusive content and insights throughout the season.”

The Supercar Championship kicks off at Mount Panorama this weekend February 27-28.
