Isuzu appoints new MD/CEO

Mr Hiroshi Nishizaka has been appointed as the new Managing Director and CEO of Isuzu Australia Limited
Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) has announced the appointment of Mr Hiroshi Nishizaka as Managing Director and CEO, replacing Mr Koichi 'Mike' Yoda who recently returned to Japan after four years in the role.
Mr Nishizaka, who officially took over the role in June, has an extensive background with Isuzu Motors Limited Japan (IZJP), including senior positions throughout IZJP's worldwide network.
Nishizaka-san began his career with the Engineering division of Isuzu in 1980 after completing his Mechanical Engineering degree at Keio University. He then spent four years at IZJP, before transferring to Isuzu Motors America LLC.
Mr Nishizaka has spent 32 years in total working throughout the Isuzu global network in engineering and product planning areas.
In 2012 he was appointed CEO of Isuzu Truck South Africa before arriving here in Australia to take on his latest post. He said he was thrilled to hit the ground running in IAL's Port Melbourne head office.
"Australia is held in extremely high regard by Isuzu Motors Japan and I'm keen to contribute to the continued global success of the brand throughout the region," he said.
"In my time I have seen and experienced the importance of customer care and the key contribution this makes to our brand and reputation.
"I am excited to continue to work on these key focus points and build on the strong history of business success here in Australia. I will strive to ensure the highest level of effectiveness in sales and operations achieved and maintained.
"Koichi Yoda achieved a great deal during his time here, and I feel extremely honoured to be picking-up where he left off, and look forward to a prosperous future here in Melbourne."
IAL Director and Chief Operating Officer Phil Taylor said everyone at Isuzu was looking forward to further developing relations with Japan and maintaining the top spot in the Australian trucking market.
"We're looking forward to getting to know Nishizaka san and working together to ensure Isuzu Trucks remain the number one name in Australian trucking."
