Raymar Hire, a South Australian business that delivers its bins and excavation equipment to a variety of high-end building firms, says its new Isuzu FYJ 2000 8x4 is enhancing its operations in a multitude of ways.
Owner Ray Engles says the recently purchased truck gives him the manoeuvrability he requires to access tight work sites.
"I have all of the tools to get into backyards and other small areas as well," he says.
"The machines I use allow me to dig trenches and then also remove soil in one go. The truck lets me carry the excavator and other machines in the roll-off bin."
The Raymar Hire truck is fitted with a 25-tonne Hiab Multilift LHZ – a roll-on, roll-off bin lifter that has the attributes of a hook-lift combined with an end tipper. Mr Engles simply lifts the bin and places it to the rear of the truck, before driving his excavator out of the bin.
"This set up is much more convenient and efficient," he says.
"It’s also easier on my body and I can get home earlier at the end of the day – I’m off the job in just 10 minutes. I don’t need to put ramps down; I just drive the machines straight into the back of the bin and go."
Mr Engles says the job brings many benefits to his work.
"The FYJ 2000 8x4 is nine metres long and very manoeuvrable," he says.
"It’s much easier than driving and navigating a truck and trailer set-up around a job site. The truck is very well balanced for the 5-7.5m bins that fit so well on the back."
Mr Engles says sampling the new model made his purchasing decision easy.
"I did my homework and drove a lot of the new models available in the same class," he says.
"However, I felt that when I drove the Isuzu FYJ 2000 8x4 it stood out. It was extremely easy to drive and the Allison automatic transmission was a breeze. The other vehicles I test drove only had automatic manual transmissions.
"Isuzu has produced a great product in the FYJ. It’s a pleasure to drive, luxurious, and it ticked more boxes than its competitors. I couldn’t be happier with the overall package. It’s a really nice truck – it’s as simple as that."
