Isuzu gets a new home

Australia’s top-selling truck brand moves into new digs in Melbourne’s west

Isuzu is set to start a new chapter in its life in the Aussie truck market with the completion of a new, state-of-the-art facility in Melbourne.

Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) moved into the purpose-built home on February 26. The sprawling site will house its national operation under one roof at Truganina, in the trucking heartland of Melbourne’s West.

Completion of the new facility also coincides with Isuzu’s run in 2018 towards an unprecedented 30 years of truck market leadership in Australia.

An excited IAL Chief Operating Officer, Phil Taylor, said the coming together of all facets of the brand’s operation will enable more immediate collaboration and communication between the various departments at IAL.

“We’ve got bold plans for the future of the brand in Australia and completion of works at our new facility signals the start of something really special,” he said.

“Development of the new facility is an extension of our commitment to our customers for the next 10, 20, even 50 years,” he added.

“We’re here for the long haul and we’ve now got the best possible foundations to deliver the best possible product for the foreseeable future.”

IAL’s Staff Operations Manager, Aninka Morhall, was charged with overseeing every facet of the build, and noted nothing’s been left to chance.

“It’s rare that an organisation gets the chance to physically re-set and as a result, re-engineer their approach. This process has afforded us that opportunity, and ultimately, it’ll be our customers who reap the greatest benefit,” she said.

“From concept, we made sure this facility was designed and built with genuine collaboration in mind, and we’ve definitely achieved that.

“From our day-to-day administration through to training and product development, we’re now able to better work together in solving problems and creating innovative new transport solutions for our customers. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome,” Ms Morhall said.
