The recently held 2015 Isuzu National Dealer Meeting in Melbourne saw Townsville's Tony Ireland Isuzu take out the very first Isuzu Australia Limited Truck Dealer of the Year Award.
Dealer Principal Tony Ireland said honest and ethical dealings underpinned his business's success.
"I am extremely proud of my people and grateful for the support that my customers provide the business," he said.
"To be the inaugural winner of National Dealer of the Year is a fabulous achievement.
"Several of our employees have never worked elsewhere, so the satisfaction that comes from winning this with home-grown talent is overwhelming."
The Townsville dealership also claimed Isuzu's Sales Dealer of the Year and Service Dealer of the Year awards, while Victoria's Patterson Cheney Trucks claimed Parts Dealer of the Year.
IAL Business Planning Manager and Company Secretary, Paul Evans, said the awards gave deserving dealers official recognition of their efforts, while delivering adding incentive to deliver the best possible levels of service.
In determining the awards dealerships are scored across a range of criteria, including presentation, customer care, training, inventory management and general dealer performance.
"To receive the top score a department must excel in all these areas, irrespective of the dealership's size and volume," Mr Evans said.
"The awards will encourage dealerships to constantly improve their operations, with customers being the greatest beneficiaries."
