Isuzu Australia Isuzu Trucks has announced that it will be an official sponsor of Tickford Racing for the 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.
The Isuzu Trucks sponsorship of Tickford Racing comes in association with NTI Truck Assist, and marks the second year of IAL’s involvement in the Supercars Championship.
IAL Head of Marketing and Customer Experience, John Walker, said that it’s shaping up to be an exhilarating race season for Isuzu Trucks and Tickford Racing.

“It’s fantastic to back Tickford Racing and driver Lee Holdsworth, a highly respected driver on the circuit and a team with a proud history and pedigree in Supercars racing,” Mr Walker said.
“We’re excited to be supporting the Tickford team in 2020 and we’re expecting some red-hot competition out on the track.”
Tickford Racing, as it’s known today, was first established as Ford Performance Racing in 2002, and the team won the championship in 2015 with driver Mark Winterbottom.
“Our 2019 was very solid, especially in the back half of the season. Sammy (Scaffidi, engineer) and I have gelled really well working together, and I believe we can carry our speed from the end of last year into the new season. I’m really excited to get into it,” said Holdsworth.

Walker also noted the connection between Isuzu’s loyal customer base and the Supercars championship.
“A lot of our truck customers hold a pretty close interest in the Supercars championship and it’s a great way for us to get out there and be a part of something that’s near and dear to many of our operators and the wider Isuzu family,” he said.
The Supercars circuit opens with the Superloop Adelaide 500, which will run from 20 to 23 February 2020. Following that, the race continues in Melbourne with the Beaurepaires Melbourne 400, from 12 to 15 March.
