Growing self-storage company Taxibox Mobile Storage says its fleet of five Isuzu trucks is key to its ongoing success

Taxibox Mobile Storage delivers self-storage ‘cubes’ direct to its customers’ doors, and so the performance and efficiency of its trucks is of paramount importance.

The firm says its fleet of five Isuzu FVL 1400s delivers an edge over its competitors and has been instrumental its growth. The company currently has operations in Sydney and Melbourne and will shortly be expanding to Brisbane.

According to the Co-Director of Taxibox Mobile Storage, Jeremy Rosen, the Isuzus allow the firm to maximise its productivity.

“We use Isuzu trucks for our delivery method; this means we can operate with truck-mounted forklifts and deliver up to five taxiboxes at a time to one customer,” he says.

“Most of our competitors might only be able to deliver one storage box at a time.

“Once customers have finished packing the Taxiboxes, we deliver them to their new homes or to the nearest Taxibox storage facility; we also take away unused taxiboxes free of charge.”

Rosen says the firm began purchasing its Isuzus in 2010, with the truck brand’s reputation for reliability a major contributing factor to its ultimate decision.

“Reliability is incredibly important to us because it affects our reputation in the market,” he said.

“For people moving into storage, it’s often a very stressful time - so we don’t miss deliveries and we try to be as timely and responsive to their needs as we can be.”

The Isuzu FVL 1400s can each accept five 1.5 x 2.2m Taxiboxes and are fitted with truck-mounted forklifts and mounting kits.

The trucks cover up to 100,000km each year, with all of that distance covered in Sydney and the Melbourne metropolitan areas.
