ITTES: ATA launches 2014 tender process

The 2014 ATA tender will see a prime mover, B-double trailer set, and two refrigeration units awarded to the highest bidders
Bidding has opened in the 2014 Australian Trucking Association tender process, with three major pieces of trucking hardware available: a Volvo FH 540 prime mover, a CIMC flat-deck curtain-sider B-double trailer set, and a Thermo King S600 Precedent refrigeration unit, the latter complete with custom airbrush work paying homage to the firm’s founders, Fred Jones and Joe Numero, and its 75th anniversary.
An SB330 Thermo King unit taken from the ATA’s safety truck will also be on offer.
Bidding has now commenced on the items via a blind tender process, with the money raised to bolster funds for the peak representative body’s war chest.
In addition to knowing they will be supporting the representation of the Australian truck and road transport industries, winning bidders will also receive free registration at the Trucking Australia 2014 conference at Hamilton Island over June 6-7, plus airfares and accommodation for two.
The bidding process was formerly opened by ATA Director, Kathy Williams, at Melbourne’s 2014 International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show. On hand were key representatives from Volvo Group Australia (Michael Norman, Regional Sales Manager – Pacific Islands and Export, and Julie Skerman, Brand Manager), CIMC (Hector Ojea, Managing Director CIMC Vehicle Australia, and David Li, CEO of CIMC Vehicle Group and Chairman of CIMC Vehicle Australia), and Thermo King Australia (Ken Adams, Regional Parts and Product Manager).
“In 2014, we are excited to present four separate items for sale by tender,” said Mrs Williams.
“The proceeds of these sales will support the ATA’s campaigns to improve the safety, professionalism and viability of the Australian trucking industry. I encourage operators to take a look at these items and make a confidential bid on this valuable equipment.
“Not only will you be supporting the industry, but you can also get a great deal as well. We really are appreciative of the support of the best suppliers to our industry, and on behalf of the ATA I cannot thank them enough.”
